Cooling Loops. Built before they reach the site.

Iron Point Mechanical details and fabricates the process piping behind liquid-cooled data centers in Greater Phoenix and Los Angeles: CDU and rack manifolds, plant tie-ins and onsite power systems. Spooled in our shop, tested, and delivered ready to set.

AI halls moved the work into the piping.

Rack densities have passed what air can carry away, so liquid cooling is now in most new data center designs. Every direct-to-chip hall adds a secondary loop: headers, row manifolds and hundreds of rack connections that all have to be clean, tight and on schedule.

That piping sits on the critical path. Equipment specs change late, field labor is short, and a mechanical contractor can't afford to weld thousands of joints in a building that's still being closed in.

In Phoenix, water sharpens the problem: new campuses are designed around closed loops and dry coolers instead of evaporative towers, which puts even more of the cooling system into pipe. In Los Angeles, the work is often inside buildings already running, where existing halls are being converted to liquid cooling with short shutdown windows.

We take that scope off the field. We fabricate spools, manifolds and skids in a controlled shop from your coordinated model, pressure test them, and ship them kitted by area so your crews install instead of build.

What we build

Each scope is labeled by the service it carries, the same way it will be marked in the finished plant.

Custom equipment

Built to order when off-the-shelf won't fit the duty, the space or the schedule. Tagged the way it will appear on the P&ID.

High-purity fluid handling systems

For loops and process lines where particles, metals or organics can't get into the fluid. Built, cleaned and documented to the purity spec, then sealed for delivery.

Orbital-welded stainless tubing
316L tubing and fittings joined by automatic orbital welding, with weld logs, coupon samples and borescope inspection.
Electropolished and passivated assemblies
Smooth, clean internal surfaces that shed fewer particles and resist corrosion.
Ultrapure and deionized water lines
UPW and DI distribution and recirculation loops in stainless or PVDF, sloped and drainable with no dead legs.
High-purity gas lines
Nitrogen, clean dry air and argon distribution, helium leak tested and purged before capping.
Chemical distribution
Double-contained PVDF and PFA lines for acids, caustics and treatment chemicals, with leak detection.
Sanitary fittings and valve manifolds
Tri-clamp and BPE fittings, diaphragm valve manifolds and instrument panels, assembled and tested as one unit.
Coolant fill and filtration stations
Filtered fill, flush and treatment carts and skids that bring cooling loops up to the cleanliness cold plates demand.
Cleanroom-ready packaging
Cleaned, nitrogen purged, capped and double bagged so assemblies arrive as clean as they left the shop.

Materials: stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, PVDF and PFA, per project spec. Tell us your cleanliness and testing requirements up front and we'll build the procedure around them.

Detailing and design-assist, sold on its own

Fabricating in-house? Hire us for the models and drawings only. We turn the design team's model into fabrication-ready packages and keep them current when equipment changes late.

When a project needs engineer-of-record design, we work as a detailing subconsultant to Arizona-registered engineering firms. They hold the engineering contract and seal the drawings.

Fabrication models
BIM models detailed to fabrication level, with every spool, support and fitting placed.
Spool and isometric drawings
Cut-ready sheets with weld maps, bills of material and location tags.
Trade coordination
Clash detection and resolution with electrical, structural and the rest of the MEP team.
Shop drawings and submittals
Drawing packages formatted for the design team's review and approval.
Change management
Fast model and drawing updates when CDUs, racks or tenant specs change mid-project.

How a package moves

We work from your coordinated model and hand back material that drops into your schedule.

  1. Detail

We take your BIM model, produce spool drawings, and flag clashes and missing information before anything is cut.

  2. Fabricate

Cut, weld and assemble in the shop. Every spool is tagged to its location in the model.

  3. Test and ship

Pressure tested, cleaned and capped, then shipped kitted by floor, hall or row in install order.

  4. Set and support

Your crews set install-ready material. We answer fit-up questions and supply test records for commissioning.

Who we work for

We work as a subcontractor to mechanical contractors and general contractors on data center and mission-critical projects in Greater Phoenix and Los Angeles. Hand us a defined scope, from a single hall's manifolds to a full cooling plant, and we deliver it install-ready under your contract.

Where we work

Greater Phoenix, where the new campuses are going up:

  • West Valley: Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye and Glendale
  • East Valley: Mesa, Chandler and the Elliot Road Technology Corridor
  • Phoenix proper, including Deer Valley

Los Angeles, new builds and liquid cooling retrofits:

  • Vernon and downtown Los Angeles
  • El Segundo and the South Bay
